Welcome to Defining Someday.
We are a young couple pursuing our dream to live and work abroad. Currently based in Hong Kong, we have also lived in Auckland, Toronto and London, and have traveled to 18 countries – so far!
Before we left home (which is Ontario, Canada), we sold everything we could and gave everything else away. We don’t own a house or a car or a storage locker but we do have lots of suitcases and old (full!) passports and friends in far away places. We don’t know what city we will live in next, but we do know that we will keep moving (one of our careers involves moving every 18-24 months).
We know we’re lucky, but you know what’s funny about the expat life? It’s still life. You still have to work, eat, sleep, make friends and wash dishes. So this blog is our place to keep track of the progress we are making with cooking, keeping fit, and traveling while the place we call Home keeps changing.
A little about us:
Danielle says, “Frank is the highly intense analytical type who, to borrow a phrase from Michael Lewis, “…is extremely fit and bald, but by choice rather than circumstance.” He is my favourite running partner, makes the world’s best waffles and is the most interesting person I know.”
Frank says, “Danielle is the general instigator of all of our wild adventures. She is also the sweetest person you’d ever meet, always smiling and optimistic. She has accomplished everything she sets her mind to, so it’s best not to underestimate her.”
