Ma Cucina

One of the things that always interests me about food blogs is the setting. I wonder what lies beyond the pictures, which are often cropped down to just the food…what do the kitchens look like that create these wonderful foods…what kind of equipment does the cook use…where does the cook store things in the kitchen?

A Workout for Legs Like a Rock Star

Love this workout, which the site claims is Carrie Underwood’s routine:

Homemade Hand Sanitizer

I found this simple recipe for making your own hand sanitizer. It looks easy and uses everyday ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup of aloe Vera gel
  • 2/3 cup of 99% rubbing alcohol
  • 8-10 drops of essential oil (such as vanilla, lavender, grapefruit, peppermint, etc.)
  • One small mixing bowl and spoon
  • Recycled liquid soap bottle
  • Funnel

Directions

Measure all ingredients into a bowl and stir. Use a funnel to transfer the mixture into a recycled soap bottle.

Ever the charmer, Frank sent me this helpful list of plants that make your house smell nice. Or nicer.

1. Lavender (above)

2. Scented Geranium
