By Danielle, on June 30th, 2010 My friend LB is a skilled artist with fine art pieces that make me go, “grrr, I wish I could wield a pencil/paintbrush.”
Alas, I’ve realized why she can draw and I can’t. It’s simple, really.
She draws. I don’t.
As a diligent practicer of art, LB sits down every day, picks up a pencil, and draws.
For the month of June she decided to draw a monster a day and post it on her blog. I let her pile up a whole month’s worth of cute little creatures before deciding to share her genius. Check out her . . .

By Danielle, on June 28th, 2010 A couple weeks ago, friends of ours watched in horror as their neighbour’s house burned. She said it was like watching a movie, which I think means it was surreal and dramatic and there was nothing she could do to help. Their neighbour was badly burned because he managed to rescue his child from the burning house.
Now, I know it’s not very likely, but it could happen. In case of fire, what would you grab? I am reminded of a scene in the movie Leap Year, when the main character is asked, “Do you know what you would grab . . .

- Write on friends’ walls with a Sharpie.
- Spread viruses manually (loose sexual scruples, coughing on streetcar poles, etc.).
What would you do if you quit facebook?

(of a person) given to acting upon sudden impulses. 3. (of natural phenomena) arising from internal forces or causes; independent of external agencies; self-acting. 4. growing naturally or without cultivation, as plants and fruits; indigenous. 5. produced by natural process.
Defining Someday can be great; looking forward and setting dreams and plans in place for future achievement and success is important. But what about the here and now? What if you . . .

The day I discovered free yoga at Lululemon was the day I thought I had reached Yoga Mountain, the peak where effort is matched by reward. And it has been great. Twice a week I skip up to the nearest store, take in an hour of free and freeing exercise, and because it’s all a part of their community initiatives, I don’t even feel guilty about not paying for class. Or buying any athletica. Which I guess is their made up name for workout wear?
Anyways. If I was on Yoga Mountain, . . .
